My guest–Julie James.

Note: Each year I conduct interviews with famous authors who will be guests at various conferences. Julie will be appearing at Love Is Murder, Feb. 3-5, 2011, in Chicago.)
1. Julie, you were an attorney before you went into writing novels full-time. What is it about training as an attorney that seems to make for such fantastic authors? What did you learn in your work as a lawyer that you still use when you write today?

A. Maybe all us lawyers write simply to escape our day jobs? Kidding! (Mostly.) I think it’s a couple things. First, as a lawyer, you write a lot. Second, as a trial lawyer, your job in many ways is to tell a story

  1. Hi there,

I stumbled upon Julie James this christmas with the Kindle my husband got me. I have to say that I am hooked and that I've already downloaded 3 of her books!

I really enjoy her writing style. You're right about the fact that the sex scenes she writes are super hot but not disgusting. I have always had a deep admiration for writers who manage to transport a reader to a little world thats sort of believable and that keeps them interested. I am so curious to know what happens what happens to her characters Jack Pallas and Cameron Lynde and I was particularly sad to finish that book! Thanks for the interview.
